Introduction
Management of the soil resource and understorey vegetation is a critical component for current forest production and long-term sustainability. This Cooperative concentrates on research aimed at improving site management decisions based on a sound understanding of processes driving forest productivity.
Mission Statement
To develop the technology to improve the production efficiency of plantation species through the silvicultural manipulation of site resources, through:
- conducting research to support the selection of best management practices to optimise site productivity; and
- transferring knowledge to NZ Forest Site Management Cooperative members.
