Introduction The main objective of the Research-Industry Cooperative (formed in 1993) is to improve the profitability and reduce the risk of growing and utilising Douglas-fir in New Zealand. The scope is from seed to product: - Develop and deploy improved genetic material.
- Determine the effects of site, silviculture and genetics on growth and quality.
- Environmental issues (tree spread, carbon)
- Product performance
- Capturing this knowledge in user friendly decision support systems.
