Ensis Forest Biosecurity and Protection is Australasia's leading provider of forest health, biosecurity and fire research. This team provides the science needed to protect forests from damage caused by insect pests, pathogens, weeds, other biological agents, fire, and wind.
In terms of biological risk factors, Ensis expertise spans the entire biosecurity spectrum. Knowledge and management tools can be applied to plantation, indigenous and urban forests.
The trans-Tasman team also combines leading fire research capabilities in bush and rural landscapes, including land on the rural/urban interface . The purpose of the fire programme is to protect life, property, and economic and conservation resources from damage caused by wildfire.
