Dr Bob Allison - Ensis Papro
Bob Alllison was the General Manager of Ensis Papro whilst Ensis was an unincorporated joint venture, and now represents the New Zealand group specialising in pulp, paper and packaging technologies. He has made major scientific contributions to the understanding of how best to process plantation-grown radiata pine into papermaking pulp
During his science career, Bob has characterised and optimised radiata pine's response to a wide range of pulping and bleaching processes, including those developed with his team. He has also collaborated widely and conducted research on the basic mechanisms controlling these processes.
As a past-President of Appita, the Australasian pulp and paper technical association, Bob currently serves on the Editorial Board for the Appita Journal. He is a fellow of the International Academy of Wood Science, co-recipient of the US EPA's 1999 Green Chemistry Challenge Award, and a recipient of a National Research Advisory Council Fellowship to undertake doctoral studies at NCSU under Professor Josef Gratzi. He has also served on the program committees of the International Symposium of Wood and Pulping Chemistry for a number of years.
